So you want to know how to write cyberpunk novels? Well you're not alone. Many authors don't have a clue about writing this genre, but luckily I can tell you how to do it. You see cybernetic fiction is not really much different from any other type of fiction, except that instead of the normal run of the mill type of plot and characters, you have totally awesome artificial intelligent "robot" characters. Cyberpunk works best written in short bursts, usually no more than twenty minutes each. That's because the pace of cybernetic nonfiction is very frantic. Just think about how fast your computer is, and how long paragraphs you can write in one day. True you have to use figurative language because if you try to get into the thick of things in cybernetic prose you'll drive yourself crazy.
So how do you approach cybernetic nonfiction in a way that doesn't drive you crazy? How do you make it entertaining yet informative at the same time? This is where my personal favorite author, Philip K. Dick, comes into play. In his sci-fi/cyberpunk Paravant series he tackles the same issues that I used to; he does a good job of it in fact.

I'll give you the brief history of the cybernetic era and then tell you how I put together my Paravant series. But first I'd like to tell you why I love writing cyberfiction in the first place. The first reason is because it allows me to escape the everyday world into a surreal alternate universe where almost everything is possible. This includes the use of poetic prose, called "paraphrasing," which helps me with my main goal for creating cybernetic nonfiction like my Paravant series.

Another reason I love writing poetry is because of the figurative language. As a poet I like to create imagery and when I'm writing prose it helps me to do that as well. When I create figurative language in a poem or a prose piece, I can then translate those images into the figurative language of the Internet, since all writing is, in essence, a translation. This makes all the difference in the world between writing poetry and working hard in cyberspace.

I also like to use technical terms in my prose because I can then translate them into the cyberspace that I am using. This is especially important in the case of Paravant, which is my cybernetic poetic journal. When I started this project I was looking for a way to bring cyberware into the real world. And while I can't give too much of the technical information of the ParaVant series (the journal is in PDF format), I will tell you that the cyberware that I have used to create the journal has made the process of writing the journal much easier, not to mention more fun. Because in the case of this particular journal I chose to use a poetic style of writing, I needed to describe things in my words much more than I would have if I had used a more conventional style of writing, like I would have used in a newspaper or magazine.
For instance in the ParaVant journal I chose to describe how the protagonist, Alucard, died in the cyberverse, and in doing so I was able to put in the kind of slang that I would have used if I was writing about the character in a traditional form of poetry, for example "her wingsuit," "her boots," and so on. This gave me the freedom to describe certain aspects of the cyberverse that would have been very difficult to do if I was writing traditional poetry. How to Write Cyberpunk: Spring 2021 Journal was another big help to me in getting ideas for the material that I was going to create in the future. It also showed me that with the right tools and subject knowledge I would be able to create some pretty good prose.
Now how to write cyberpunk is a question that I will continue to answer over the next few months as I continue to work on the book that I am currently working on. The last thing that I want to do is to give you too much information at once. That said, I will give you an idea of some of the things that I am working on. The main character in my future nonfiction cyber-punk novel is called Bitch. She is a thirty-something year old hacker who works for a private company. Her job is to protect the company from the hackers who are trying to disrupt the system by creating chaos.
